New Heights Charter School of Brockton recently completed its fifth annual educational service trip to Puerto Plata, a province in the Dominican Republic. The initiative brings New Heights teachers and rising high school seniors into local classrooms to teach underserved Dominican and Haitian-Dominican elementary and middle school students English language skills. New Heights Rising Juniors and Seniors Attend Lorraine’s Leaders Program at Regis College

This year, 13 of our rising high school juniors and seniors joined the Lorraine's Leaders Program at Regis College for four weeks. They spent the first two weeks commuting from New Heights to Regis College in Weston, Mass., and the final two weeks living on campus, experiencing college life firsthand. Regis established the Lorraine’s Leaders program in memory of Lorraine DeStefano Tegan, Class of 1963.
