Dear Students, Families, and Caregivers,

I am deeply honored to step into the role of Principal at New Heights Charter School of Brockton as we celebrate our 10th anniversary. As an educator, I bring 14 years of teaching experience across middle and high school, along with 9 years experience in educational administration, curriculum development, and leadership. I am thrilled to join this vibrant community and advance our core mission of preparing our students for college. Period. As I step into this role, I look forward to deepening our partnerships with colleges and universities and partnering with our families to better serve our diverse student population. Period.

What have we been up to this summer?

Our students and staff have been busy in continuous learning: making up credits, visiting colleges, and participating in orientations.

We successfully wrapped up our summer school/Credit Recovery. A heartfelt thank you to our Summer School Program Coordinator, Michalek Dennis, and our dedicated teachers and staff for guiding our scholars.

In addition, over 100 of our rising 9th and 10th graders took part in our Summer Bridge Program—a transformative two-week academic experience hosted at Massasoit Community College (MCC) and Bridgewater State University (BSU). Scholars toured campuses, built critical academic skills, and gained firsthand experience with college life.

Lorraine’s Leaders at Regis College: Congratulations to the 13 rising juniors and seniors who completed the prestigious Lorraine’s Leaders Program at Regis College! Established in memory of Lorraine DeStefano Tegan (Class of ’63), this cohort program empowers first-generation college-bound scholars, particularly those pursuing careers in healthcare and the sciences.

Mark your Calendar for Our Back-to-School Bash!

Finally, we are excited to announce that our annual Back-to-School Bash will take place on August 26th this year. This event is our way of celebrating the new academic year and ensuring every scholar is equipped for excellence. We will distribute backpacks and school supplies, and families can purchase uniforms for the upcoming year.

First Day of School
Please note that the 2026-2027 Academic Year will Begin 0n Monday, August 31, 2026 for grades 6-10.

Please keep an eye out for further communications regarding academic expectations and schedules for the upcoming school year. It has been a pleasure meeting some of you already, and I look forward to connecting with many more families at the Bash and throughout the year ahead.
