FOR IMMEDIATELY RELEASE

New Heights Charter School of Brockton Receives 300 Laptops from the Healey-Driscoll Administration’s Connect & Online Program.
These internet-enabled devices will be used to strengthen learning at New Heights. They will also support our commitment to preparing all students for college and professional success.

Brockton, MA, April 09, 2026 — New Heights Charter School of Brockton (NHCSB) is pleased to announce the receipt of 300 laptops through the Connected and Online Program, a statewide initiative led by the Massachusetts Broadband Institute (MBI), a division of the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (MassTech). These internet-enabled devices will provide our students and their families with home internet access, allowing them to fully engage in their communities and find the necessary resources needed to prosper.

Connectivity is a foundational pillar of a competitive economy. Broadband and Digital Inclusion are essential to fully participate in modern life and critically important for our future prosperity. This program aligns perfectly with the school’s mission to close the college achievement gap for urban students through technology and an early college preparedness.

Omari Walker, Executive Director and Interim Principal of New Heights, expressed his deep gratitude toward the Healey-Driscoll Administration for this impactful initiative. “We applaud the Healey-Driscoll Administration for investing in such a commendable technological initiative. By making internet-enabled devices accessible to all students and families across the Commonwealth regardless of their zip code, they are helping us level the playing field,” said Walker.
