A delegation of teachers, students, and staff—including our Executive Director, Omari Walker—attended the 4th Annual Cardboard and Duct Tape Canoe Race at Massasoit Community College (MCC) on Monday, October 19, 2026!

MCC holds a special place in our community, as the majority of our Early College students enroll in classes on their campus. To prepare for this annual STEM challenge, New Heights students and teachers spent days designing and building their makeshift canoe from scratch, leveraging their scientific and engineering know-how using only cardboard and duct tape.

A massive congratulations to our team on an outstanding performance! We can’t wait to team up with the MCC science department for another incredible Cardboard and Duct Tape Canoe Race next year!
