May 3rd 2021: MCAS testing dates

March 1st 2021: New Charter Awarded

Every five years, per state law, charter schools undergo a rigorous written evaluation and site visit protocol by experts in the field of education. The outcome of this evaluation; which looks at finances, curriculum, student outcomes, and instruction to name a few areas, is a determination about the charter school’s ability to continue operation for an additional five years. New Heights was reviewed this spring at the conclusion of our fifth year of operation and we are proud to share that not only was our charter renewed, it was renewed without and conditions or areas of improvement.

February 15th 2021: New College Partnership

M.Fernandes and P.Fontes have been committed to fostering and developing formal relationships with four-year institutions to create seamless pathways to post-secondary institutions for our scholars. Formal MOUs can vary from institution to institution, but the ultimate objective is to encourage persistence in college after graduation from NHCSB. Our first formal partnership is with Nichols College!
New Heights Charter School and Nichols College recognize that, for many students, a bachelor’s degree is an important step to realizing a life of maximum earning power. NHCSB and Nichols College share the objectives of helping students reduce the time and expense to attain a bachelor’s degree for NHCSB
scholars, and providing access to dynamic and transformational business and leadership education for NHCSB students at Nichols College.

This Agreement is formed to enable a seamless pathway for New Heights Charter School graduates to Nichols College through:
• An accelerated acceptance process for New Heights Charter School students applying to Nichols College
• A clear tuition rate for New Heights Charter School students depending on their GPA and number of college credits earned • A credit transfer policy whereby all (up to 62) college level credits earned while enrolled at New Heights will be accepted.
