We Are Friends of New Heights

We tell every one of our students, “You will go to college!” Period.

That’s not an easy promise, for them or us. New Heights students’ lives aren’t as simple as getting on the bus in the morning, taking the required classes, and picking up a diploma at the end of their studies.

New Heights students face every economic, social, and civil challenge an inner city-community has to offer. That’s exactly why our promise is so important!
We fund the education; your gift funds the magic!

New Heights is a public school. Like other public schools, we spend our state and federal dollars on great teachers, classrooms, counselors, school nurses, free cafeteria meals, and building repairs. Unlike other public schools, however, we also foot all the costs of up to two years worth of college courses, professors, transportation, special curriculum, summer programs, and college counseling. But the New Heights kids – they are still kids – need to do community service to learn responsibility. They need to play sports to learn teamwork. They need to visit art museums and attend plays to learn other ways to express themselves. They should learn how to open bank accounts, cook meals, grow a garden, and play a ukulele.

And when they do step on the podium at New Heights to receive not just a well-earned high school diploma, but college credits up to an Associates Degree, how great would it be if they received some scholarship assistance, too? Help us give New Heights students EVERYTHING. They deserve it!

What Is the Friends of New Heights Foundation?

The Friends of New Heights Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all volunteer organization separate from New Heights School. We exist only to raise and distribute money for activities that go above and beyond those that should be funded by the school itself.

Your gift is fully tax deductible. You can give online (charges are incurred) or send a check care of Friends of New Heights, to 1690 Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.

You can direct your gift of any size to a particular field of interest, such as Arts, Afterschool Sports Scholarships, Innovative Ideas, Community Service, General Support, or to the Friends open grant-making program. VISIT OUR DONATION PAGE to make your generous contribution.

Major Gifts Welcomed
Sizable gifts may qualify for placement on our Wall of honor, in our annual program book, and deep in our hearts. If you’d like to meet with someone at New Heights to discuss a larger gift, we’d love to meet with you, too! Please contact Maria Fernades at mfernandes@nhcsb.org.
